You can rent these by the day, weekend, week or for the Holiday Break. Come by the PIT and make sure we have your size. QHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT THE FITNESS GENTER Getting ready for the holiday season, the Fitness Center is selling gift cerificates. These can be used for anything we sell such as mechandise and memberships. What a great gift for those whose New Year’s Resolution is to become more active. We are also having a sale right now until December 31st. Come and check it out. THE INTRAMLIRAL SQENE The final 3 on 3 basketball game was held on November 29th and the winner was TEAM 13, THE GIMPS. They played team 5, The Red Hot Sexies and the final score was 15-5. The final soccer game will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 8:00 pm. With the intramural programs coming to a close we would like to thank everyone who participated and we hope that everyone signs up next semester. Next semester promises to be bigger and better than the last. : EARLV REGISTRATION Early Registration for the intramural programs will be taking place until December 9. Look for sign-up sheets in the Wintergarden and at the PIT. You can sign up as an individual or as a team. The sports that will be taking place are men’s and women’s floor hockey, co-ed volleyball, team handball, squash, racquetball, and ping pong ladder, and walleyball. All of the programs will be in the evenings except for walleyball which will be held in the mornings. For the start of the intramural programs next semester, we will be having open gym for each of the offered sports. They will be at the allocated times that will give everyone an opportunity to meet others and to decide if they want to play or not. During the open gym times, people are more than welcome to make teams for the league and submit them to the intrarnpeal co-ordinator.This will ensure that you get to play with the poeple you want to play with. SUGGESTIONS If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to come to the PIT and talk to anyone there or leave a note in the suggestions box. We VOLUNTEERS Anyone looking for volunteer hours or would like to get involved with the fitness center, should come to the PIT and sign up. We are actively looking for dedicated people to help us with the intramural special events. Depending on the number of hours you work, you may be eligible for free equipment rentals include racquets, balls, eye protectors and ski packages. It is a great opportunity to build up your resume and then get out on the courts and play. By the beginning of next semester, we are hoping to build an ice rink on the field beside the gymnasium. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Jim O’Meara at the PIT. This rink would be for your use, so the more people that help out the better and quiker we can get the rink up and going. Don’t forget to bring back your skates after the holiday so you can use the rink!!! REQREATION QLASSES To date, we will be offering the following recreation classes for students, staff and public: Level I and II Jujitsu, yoga, Tai, Chi, teddy bear making, sewing lessons, jazz, ballet, Spanish level I and II, beginner watercolors, stained glass, French, dancing, Kung Fu, food date, and cros country skiing.
