We all have an ideal.

Some perfect world we want to live in;
But the truth,

Is that it will probably never happen.
That guy you fantasize about,

The one with the perfect smile and
Eyes that tell a million stories?

He never notices you.

Doesn’t even know you exist.

The girl you've had your eye on,
The one with the twinkling laugh
And a personality that

Lights up the room?

She will go for your best friend
And you'll wonder,

“What would have happened if I
Had asked her first?”

The A+ you're hoping for on

The test you've studied so hard for.
You'll get a C+,

If youre lucky.

You hope that life will get better;
That someday you'll be

Amazing.

But you try your best,

Work so hard,

And for what?

To get a well paying

Job that you hate going to.

And work until

You die.

I know that I made you cry

Maybe should remain unspoken.

Never meant to leave you broken.

I wasn’t strong enough to stand down,
Let the little things go

Give things some room to grow.

I know that I’m not perfect;
Sometimes I just don’t think.
