On Friday December 10th a farewell
cocktail party was held in the Directors
Lodge in honour of Mr. " Bill" Johnson

who left Cassiar on December 13th to take
up residence in Vancouver. During his
114 years here, Mr. Johnson has served
on the conmittees of the Commmnity Club,
Curling Club, Church, and Vestry. He waa
Notary Publis, Mining fecorder and
Treasurer of the Lions Club, and host to
many of the visitors to Cassiar.

During the evening Mr. Beguin presented
him with an open voucher with which to

purchase a gift of his own choosing, and
extended good wishes on behalf of everyone

present. In replying, Mr. Jchnsen said
that he was sorry to be saying farewell

to the people of Cassiar but wae looking
forward to wintering in warmer climes.
The following Sunday December.12th,
members of the Church Vestry Board |
presented him with a silver tray .
inscribed " To Bill Johneon from all of
us of Ali Saints Church, Zor faithful
and unassuming service." |

He will be missed by all for his kindness
and his courtesy, and we wish him good
health and happiness. |

SCOUT NEWS.

Gerald Forbes and Douglas Cook of the Ist
Cassiar Troop have been chosen to
represent this area at the B.C-Yukon

North American Scout Jambo se to be held
in Penticton July 9th = 16th 1966. The
hoya will be assisted financially vy
the Troop, and to help raise funds they
are willing to shovel snow, carry the
greceries, and any other odd jobs. If
anyone would like to give the lais a

job please contact Mr. Bob Lovell.
