A farewell party was held by Mr. and Mrs. Caron on September 7th, in House 130 for the Veltmeyers. The highlight of this get to- gether of a number of old friends and acquaintances, was Mr. Caron's presentation to Hans and Yetty of a gift as a momento of their years of service with Cassiar. The gift was presented on behalf of the company. Mr. Caron gave an outline of Mr. Veltmeyer's progress with the company to his present position. Mr Cousins, Mechanical Superint- endant, also presented Hans with a very RRR RK KKK KKK KK KK KK beautiful gift on behalf of all the staff in the Mechanical Department. ¢ A farewell hamburger barbeque was held at The Veltmeyers 1eave Cassiar to take up a Vines Lake for Gordie Helm, former Cassiar senior position with the Crows Nest schoolteacher. ‘Gordie brought his guitar and Industries in southern B.C.
