On July 19th a farewell party was held by the Lab personnel at the ladies’ staffhouse for MR. & MRS. PAUL CLARK. Paul has been working in Cassiar for 3 years where his ability as Lab Supervisor has been undeniable, especially when he must deal with so many women constantly. Parents and students are grateful to Karen, whose special efforts with the school children are well known and appreciated. Now Paul and Karen are about to return to school at the University of Alaska and we all wish them luck in their studies. The party went well with the presentation to the couple of a specially wrapped briefcase as well as a pen and pencil set made by Jerry Lees. The speeches were naturally very amusing as indeed was the whole affair, thanks largely to Mme. Cario’s careful planning plus a few unexpected antics. Everyone enjoyed the party, although no party could ever be an adequate expression of how much Paul and Karen will be missed by usall. Our very best wishes go with them both. SKI CLUB Ski Club president, Jerry Lees, wishes to extend an invitation to all interested persons to help prepare the ski hill for this season's enjoyment. A new rope tow has been ordered and modernization of the existing facilities has been started. All people interested in skiing are asked to turn out at the ski hill every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. Pe Fie It must be discouraging to a sensible girl to see the way sensible men smile at silly girls.
