— ) COQUALEETZA RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL a Brownies REPORT BY BROWN OWL, E. I. MACKAY—PACK LEADER, EDNA WHITE Do you know Brownies that it was March 23rd, 1929, that Pinky Winky first came to us and with one wave of her wand and some magic words changed eighteen little girls into eighteen laughing Brownies? That was just the beginning of Brownie Days for “The Coqualeetza 16th 1.0.D.E. Brownie Pack.” It is now 1932 and Brownies, although some have grown older, still enjoy with intense interest and glee all stories, games, pow-wow Circles, fairy-rings, promises, laws and salutes. in fact anything Pinky Winky likes. How good it!is to be a Brownie now that flowers and birds are here. Dancing in the Sun’s bright ray, Shall they tell you why they play? Playing in the moonbeams gay, Flowing in and out like Clownies Pretty, happy little Brownies. Up and down they dance in glee. Laughing always joyfully, Running, skipping, all the day, Surely they must tire of play. In this gay mysterious way? Why—mecause they love it so, And know how to make it go. So they ve laughed for years and years. Dancing round with many cheers, But now Brownies, until another day Must turn and run and skip away.
