After a superb lunch, Judy was presented with jade earrings and brooch as a momento of Cassiar, hopefully never to be forgotten. Judy will be migsed by her many friends. mons | Ot ratt Farewell to Mrs. Mabel Strutt who is leaving Cassiar and going to her homé in Cornwall, England with her northern souvenirs and memories. Mabel*was a very active person in the community - she worked in the Library, enjoyed making all kinds of crafts in the Handicraft Club and had fun at the Artex Parties. The snow and cold are Mabel's dislikes but she didn't make it to England in time, winter has arrived here in Cassiaz with approx. 10" of snow. Best Wishes Mabel. wow Glellan’s ARAAARARARAAAARARAAAAS After 2 1/2 years looking after most of the finan- . cial problems of the Cassiar people- Dick McClellan, our Royal Bank Manager, has been moved to the sunny south and this time the McClellans hit the jackpot._ They will be moving to Westbank, a suburb of Kelowna. The McClellans _ will be missed in Cassiar as they were always very active | and took part in many of the community projects and activities. They were both ardent curlers and Dick was named Lion of the Year for 1974. Gwen was also very active in the Handicraft Club and also a devoted mother to her 3 children, two of them were born in Cassiar - Tracey on October 4, 1973 and Ian on June 14, 1975.°: Cassiar wishes the McClellans all the best in their new home. nanan MOC REPSOL 'S wanna Farewell and Best Wishes-to Jim and Moira MacPherson Jim worked for as they make their new home in Vancouver. Cassiar Asbestos as Environmental Supervisor for 5 years and has transferred to the Project Department in the Vancouver office. Night school will begin during the week of November 10. A total of 17 courses are being offered during the first term, and several additional courses are planned for the second term, February to April. There has been an excellent response from people willing to share their skills with others - we have an excellent variety of courses for a conmmity of this size. Choose from aviation, yoga, French, photography - to name only a few! ~ Our adult education programme is now a part of Northern Lights Regional College, supported by School District 87 (Stikine) and the other Northern B.C. school districts. The college hopes to be able to offer short courses and workshops in Cassiar from time to time. If you have an area of interest - of any sort - please call W. Grant at 778-7358.
