Ltd., has opened a new Parts Centre in Cassiar. ‘The $350,000 building, located on a .4 hectare (.9 acre) site, comprises some 353 square metres (3,800 square feet) of warehouse and office space to serve Cassiar Ashes- tos Corporation Ltd., and other equipment owners in the Cassiar, Good Hope Lake and Dease Lake areas. The Cassiar operation, which includes a service shop located at the mine site, has a total staff of 16, three office staff, eight mechanics, two specialists, two welders and a maint- -_enance nerson. Bob Stewart, Contract manager, moved here two years ago from the Dawson Creek operations, where he was the service chargehand. From Whitehorse are shop super- visor Bevan King, who has been in Cassiar two years, and Hans Bierman, parts sales, - here for one year. Muriel Havard has been the service support clerk for the past two years. She previously was a secretary at Cassiar Ashestos Corporation. Among Finning people hosting an informal open house for employees, customers, and their families January 26 were: J. D. (John) Frazee, president; B. M. (Bernie) Moore, general parts manager; Case Devisser, manager Whitehorse operations, Rein- hard Wilimek, product support sales, Whitehorse; and Ron Clark, service marketing manager. : is Also in attendance were former Finning Cassiar people, Bob Bergeron, now parts sales, Dawson. Creek operations, and Gerry Garant, now resident serviceman at Watson Lake. Approximately 150 people took the opportunity to view the new building, which replaces a double trailer unit.
