Over Th PB Wolfpack Goes To War By: Andrea Larson The UNBC Wolfpack went to war, and _ kicked some medieval but in the previous weekend. A tournament was held just north of 100 Mile House called the Forest War. The brave combatants com- peted in a heavy combat war, which is supposed to involve two opposing armies, but it ended up with a battle between three competing armies, the Wolfpack being one of them. For a warm up there were two field battles, which were quickly followed by three hill forest .battles. The hill/forest battles were fifteen minutes long and were. resurection battles in which the fallen combatants can go to the res- urrection point and get anoth- er life. The aim of the battle is to have captured and held a certain point of the battle field when the time runs up. The Wolfpack showed great skill and determination in their battles, winning two of the three hill/forest battles. Their control of the battle ground was shown especially well when the warriors took a little time out in order to give their regards to the ladies watch- ing. A fearful cry of “stay away from our ladies” caused the opposition to scatter, while the Wolfpack warriors marched their way across the battle ground. After they gave the ladies the due attention they deserved they went back to the battle and quickly gained control, winning easily. The Wolfpack could have won all three battles, but lost the last one because their ser- vices were spontaneously bought during the last sec- onds of battle with the promise of a bottle of mead. Of course there is never a great tournament without a great feast afterwards. After the battles the hungry war- riors joined their friends for a tasty banquet with four removes (courses) of wonder- The Government of Japan invites university graduates to Japan as Assistant English Teachers or Coordinators for International Relations | Deadline: November 24th For application forms or info., contact Consulate General of Japan Tel: 604-684-5868 ext. 223 or 240 jetprogram@consuljpnvan.com Download an application at www.embassyjapancanada.org One Year In dapan, Exchanging Ideas | The JEY Programme Information sessions will be held: October 5th 12:30pm SFU, Halpern Centre, Rm. 126 October 6th 5:00pm Consulate General of Japan October 12th 12:30pm SFU Harbour Centre, Rm. 2215 October 17th 2:30pm TWUL, Reimer Centre, Alumni Lounge October 17th 4:00pm UONBC, Conference Centre, Rm. 6-205 October 19th 12:30pm UBC, Asian Centre Auditorium October 19th 3:30pm LIVIC, Clearihue Bidg., Rm.
