POLICE CHANGES IT IS not often that a change of officials in an important governmental post occa- sions the departure of such a competent man as Col. J. H. McMullin, and the accession of a most efficient man like Assistant Com- missioner T. W. S. Parsons in the position of Commissioner of the British Columbia Police. It is a force which stands very high in the public estimation. For that reason it is most essential that the corps should be efh- ciently led. This situation has fortunately existed so long now that the tradition might outlive the departing personality. But hap- pily in this case there is no fear of a setback. Col. McMullin was a fearless, competent officer. He is succeeded by an associate in whom both the public and the force has faith.
