~ LIBRARY NEWS All persons wanting to join the library will be subject to a deposit of $10.00 from — this date on. This is due to the unfortun- ate fact that so many readers leave Cassiar without turning in their books. Our book shelves are getting slimmer each year. We don't want your money - we would appreciate our books back. This deposit covers the whole family as long as you remain in Cassiar and is refundable when you turn your books back into the library when you leave. Many of these books are irreplacable and we ask for your co-operation. Children must be signed in by parents and under no circumstance will any books be allowed out by non-members. Friends cannot turn in your books and receive your refund. If the library is not open when you decide to leave. phone the librarian and she will see that | you get your refund. If your books are all in and you leave suddenly, which a few have done previously, mail your library card in and the refund will be sent to you if you supply your mailing address. DO NOT LOAN YOUR BOOKS TO FRIENDS AS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THESE. BRIDGE CLUB The Cassiar Bridge Club held a pleasant social at the home of Mrs. R. McKenzie on January 29th. Lunch was sup- plied by the ladies plus Mrs. Voss's Famous Cake. Six tables attended and high score going to Mrs. D. McClellan and Mr. A. Wagner. The Bridge Club meets every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. sharp in the Lions Club room at the Rec. Centre. Lunch and coffee are supplied and everyone is welcome to join. Total scores are recorded and ‘top score for each month is the recipient of a suitable prize. Some of the titles are: ''This Rough Magic"' set on the Island of Corfu in the sun drenched Ionian Séa, ''The Gabriel - Hounds" a story of treasure and intrigue in an old castle in the Arabian desert, "Airs Above The Ground" takes place in Austria and tells of stolen jewels and has as a main character one of those fabulous _ Lippizzan horses from the Spanish Riding School.
