PROGRAMMING CHANGE AT WSTV Werner Schneeberger, operator of the local cable company, WSTV, announced recently that WTBS, the Ted Turner station out of Atlanta, would be starting full- time scrambling of their broadcast effective February 1, 1987. In its place, WSTV will air an experimental “Home Shopping Club” service out of Toronto. A new service for ’ Canadian television, the “Club” is not expected to com- pete with local businesses for retail sales. Schneeberger told us that such a possibility had been investigated before the decision was made to carry the new signal. He advised us that WSTV would like the public to pass on its opinion of the new service. Comments can be directed to WSTV, Box 412, Cassiar, B.C. The inclusion of “Home Shopping Network” in the local cable package is expected to be temporary. Plans are to substitute another American network station for the WTBS signal. Customers can expect to see the NBC out of Detroit as soon as modifications to the equipment are made and approval is received from the C.R.T.C. for the change in programming, LLL LS SL A > YS > SS) SS {)-D><)-D-<)-GD-<)-D- (QED) ED-{ QED VYIVMAPPY V V9 VALENTINES \
