Marks 50 YARDS RACE The Summer Camp The holiday season of 1931 found us with about forty-five pupils left in the School all anxious for a change of some kind. For years the camp had been held at Ocean Park and latterly for two summers another resort was tried. However, the concensus of opinion was that there was no place like the old haunt—Ocean Park, so Mr. Raley proceeded to look for a suitable site and was fortunate in being able to rent an excellent field near the water. The Camp lasted a month and was truly a tent life. The swimming in the salt water, the gathering of shell fish, the boating, the evening camp fires, the sing-song and marsh- mallow toasts, the Tuck Shop, mornining and evening Prayers, the Sunday Service in the open air, were all most enjoyable. We have heard that Daily Inspection was “the fly in the ointment” but even a camp must be properly run. ; The pupils enjoyed a great treat when they were taken to Bellingham in two buses and spent the day in the American town. There were also picnics and hikes to Crescent and other points. Three members of the Staff were always in Camp and Rev. The Hon. T. R. Heneage was a very welcome and helpful camp guest throughout the month. Many campers visit Ocean Park during the holidays each year but none get more health and fun out of it than the C.R.S. boys and girls. Twenty-eight
