ATTENTION There have been several cases of accidental poisonings over the past year, all affecting young children. These youngsters have some- how gotten access to drugs, aspirin or aspirin like compounds. Unless these occurrences are stopped by parents, sooner or later there will be a fatality. Mr. George Slatter, as president of the Community Club becomes the fifth member of the board. For the forthcoming year Mrs. Nordin will be Chairman and Mrs. Kahlon Secretary-Treasurer. The Library reported a good year with membership up slightly from the previous year. 600 books were received from the Library Commission, in lots of 200 every 4 months. 300 of these have been retained for our permanent collection. It is to be noted that a good number of the past year’s best sellers were made available to our readers. Two grants were received, one from the Community Club and one from the Provincial Library Commission, making it possible to retire all outstanding debts and, although the cost of books has increased, we shall be able to continue increasing our stocks at the usual rate. Plans for the forthcoming year have not been finalized, but it is hoped to increase our stock of books suitable for young people and perhaps some reference material.
