FORMER LIBERAL CANDIDATE LEAVES ATLIN RIDING -Basil Studer and his wife Verna, who are both well known in Cassiar have left Stewart to take up residence in Houston, B.C. The former Liberal candidate and his wife have taken up a teaching position in that com- munity and will live in Houston permanently. Bas taught school at Lower Post, Telegraph Creek and Iskut and ran in the 1969 and 1972 elections as the Liberal candidate in Atlin Riding. His time spent in the North was used in working quite closely with the native people. Many thought that he would win the Atlin seat but he was beaten on both occasions by Frank Calder. Mr. Martin Atline Liberal Association. NIGHT SCHOOL The school is endeavoring to develop a Night School for the residents of Cassiar. The classes will use the facilities of the school and will be developed on a self- sustaining basis. These may include such interests as fly tying, sewing, photography and various other arts and crafts. If you have an interesting hobby, don't be afraid to | come forth and offer your services. Interested persons are asked to phone Mr. Henderson at the school (778-7367) or at home (778-7358) and discuss the course or hobby you are interested in teaching.
