Sports Timberwolves Take on the Sun Demons by Mel Bostrom — OTE Sports Editor Last Saturday, the UNBC Timberwolves took on the UCC Sun Demons in the CNC gymnasium. The women started it off leading the Sun Demons until over -half way through the first half of play. The Lady- Timberwolves kept the game close, yet UCC picked up the pace on offense even with the full court press by the end of the first half the score was. 24-17 for UCC. The second half was pretty much the same, with UNBC trying to bring on the defense and using the full court press more often. However, UCC held onto the lead and did not look back. The final score for the night was 57-41 for UCC. Leading scorers: Christina. Neufeld 13 pts, Lindsay Anderson 10 pts, Heather Hausot and Laura Zielke 8 pts. The ladies now have a record of 4-10. The men’s game was also against the Sun Demons who were first in the league with a 12-1 record. The UCC men took an early lead and swap ped the lead with UNBC a few times. Yet by the last 4 minutes of the first half, UCC came back taking the lead and keeping it. The score at the half was 46-38 for UCC. The game was ail about fast- paced plays, quick-turnovers. Offense and defense were key for both teams. Fouls were a problem for both teams, by the end of the first half. The Second half was basically the same, with the final score 82-77 for UCC.
