Interest in the newspaper stemmed from working in a community newspaper for three years. | wanted to make a difference so | joined the newspaper. My expertise is in layout, ad building and darkroom stuff. Jeremy Karlson My name is Jeremy Karlson, | am a 3rd year Computer Science stu- dent. I’m not really sure why or how I started working for the paper, it just seemed to happen. | really had no intention of starting here, but | was hypnotized into entering the room, and brainwashed into stay- ing. Around here, | do mostly computer support, pho- tography and develop- ing, and occasionally some writing. | also excel at whining and complaining, but that is a full time job, not just at Over The Edge. Jay Brunn | am a 3rd year student in Natural Resource Management, with the intent of receiving a degree in Forestry. | pri- marily joined the paper to utilize and further my photography skills, and to take advantage of the darkroom, however, since | have been with Over The Edge, | seem to be doing more and more article writing. | find that working for the paper has been quite an asset: improving my writing skills for term papers, doing research and simple communica- tion. | particularly enjoy the chaos around here on production nights! Jessica Macpherson ! am in the Anthropology program. Originally it was Psychology but | realized that | am intrested im peo- ple and society in a more broader sence. Technically I'm 3rd year. 1 did one year of Art school, one year of college, and Im in my first year of. uni- veristy. Well, I’ve always wanted to get involved with “newspa- perism’. | love doing pro- ducution, because | can use my Creativity, and each issue | learn more and more. | especially enjoy production nights :) Kevin Milos the SoundScape’s the game. Kevin's name. lam the reviewer of tunes, both disastrous and ear- candy, for the purpose of SoundScapes success. | am also responsible for a portion of the concerts which come to town. For two years now | have been working with Over the Edge, having previ- ously worked as a director of the Northern Undergraduate Student Society. Since coming to Over the Edge, | have contributed through basic journalism and photojour- nalism, learning the ropes as | go. Previously hold- ing a total of three editor positions, | am now simply the Culture [SoundScape] editor, having taken the column’ personally under my wing. ! hope that you all enjoy reading it. | really have enjoyed see- ing the paper improve bit by bit as each issue pass- es us by. Jeremy Fung | am a third year com- merce student, complet- ing a double major in Marketing and Finance. | joined the newspaper in early 1997. | started by writing my opinions on professional sports teams, but as my involvement with UNBC’s community increased | found a real need to help promote our sports and clubs. | enjoy finding out what the clubs on campus are working on and | try to help them by telling all the students about them. | am very open for suggestions and | am always looking for submissions by the clubs themselves. Paul Berard I've been with Over The Edge for three and a half years. This issue is my 50th edition. I've worked for the paper because | believe in a place for stu- dents at UNBC to express their opinions and ideas. So, please if you are look- ing for experience in jour- nalism or just writing in general, come on out! Travis Alexander I’m a 3rd year cpsci major concidering taking a dou- ble cpsci-physics major. | am one of the layout coor- dinators, and | also do share computer mait- nance tasks for the office systems. | joined the paper because that is where most of my friends where and | just started helping out.
