The long awaited hope of all Cassiar Curlers has finally been realized with the installation of artificial ice, The Curling Club has taken on a whole new look, sport ing a new paint joh inside and a redecorated club lounge. The official opening of the newly installed artificial ice took place at the first social of the season on Saturday, October 2nd. President of the club, Mr. E. Michael made a brief speech after which Mr. A.C. Caron, General Sup- erintendent of Cassiar Asbestos Corporation Ltd., officially opened the curling season by delivering the first rock. Winners of the curling raffle were drawn during the evening and were as follows: lst prize - K. Ellis, Cassiar. 2nd prize -M. Gurr, Cassiar. 3rd prize - J. Fordyck, Whitehorse, Y.T. The Curling Cluh executive would like te take this opportunity to say thank you to Cassiar Asbestos Corp. Ltd. and the Community Club whose help made the installation and re-decorating possible.
