_ Library News A meeting for the promotion of the Cassiar Public Library was held on February 16th, 1976 at 9:00 p.m. in the Library Room. The executive for 1976 were elected as follows: R.L. McKenzie - Chairman Betty Houston- Secretary-Treasurer R. Ash - Committee Member R. Lahti - Committee Member P. Wood - Committee Member Marg. McKenzie- Librarian There are a few improvements required for the Library such as a control on the heating system and proper ventilation, also an extension of the pre-school ‘Section of the library to make it more attractive for the young readers. Some of the shelving used for non- fiction books will be changed to allow proper display of . the oversize books. Tlemtion Wonted Applications open for an experienced Librarian for the Cassiar Public Library. Applicant must have training in all phases of library work and dewey decimal system and must have the course, "Librarian for Commmity Libraries''. This is a university correspondence course from U.B.C. and is compulsory. Persons interested call 778-7477 for further inf tion. eee R.L. McKenzie Chairman Cassiar Library Board Dr. P. Walsh and Dr. L. Morresey will both be holding clinics at the hospital, but as space for offices and examining rooms is still limited, there will be, at most times, only one Doctor at work. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: Asbestosis will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, instead of Thursday. Office hours will be held on Wednesday afternoons. Again we *URGE* all antinatal patients, women and children to come in the afternoons except in emergencies. ***Please leave all WELL children at home as a waiting room full of COUGHS is a perfect place to catch one. A capacity crowd of 250 danced all evening to the music . of The Rising Tide Band from Vancouver. The Cassiar Teen Club helped decorate the hall for the dance and ’ the lunch was provided by the Cafeteria. Cassiar has a large enough popylation now to be | able to hold a large dance at least once a month.
