the proceedings to determine
if, at all, Santa Claus exists.

debate took place in the
Northwood Winter Garden.
Three professors (Terrible -
Todd Whitcombe, Dastardly |
David Dowling and Hated
Heather Smith) denied the
existence of Jolly St. Nick;
professors

Marvelous Mary-Ellen Kelm
Leckie)

a member of the
audience burst into song. .
The judge had to silence him

The arguments from
both sides were intcresting, if
a little silly, and the jury
could not decide. Therefore
there was a hung jury. Two
jurors agreed that Santa
Claus could not possibly exist
("My mommy would never
kiss a man with a beard")
-and two felt wholeheartedly
that Santa-was real. °

The judge, in the face of
bribery, a strip show, and a
fight, made the
decisionto overrule the jury

~ and declare Santa Claus to
exist (a wise decision as the
jolly old elf himself visited
the trial at its conclusion).

The evening was one of
- light-hearted fun, and was
enjoyed by everyone, except
the disbelievers.
