Lashmar _ Born in Vancouver, B.C., J.auary 1, 1903, of english parents and spent the majority of his life on he coastal area of British Columbia. He married in 926 and has two sons and two daughters. He joined the B.C. Provincial Police May 5, 1939, nd was posted to Duncan Detachment where he served intil 1939 and was transferred to Cumberland. On Jctober 1, 1942, he was promoted to rank of Corporal nd posted to Alert Bay Detachment and the following ear was transferred to Prince Rupert; was appointed Detective Corporal in April, 1946, and continued to erve at Prince Rupert in that capacity until December, 947, when he was promoted to the rank of sergeant nd transferred to Courtenay to assume charge of -ourtenay District. On April 18, 1950, he was pro- noted to the rank of Sub-Inspector and assumed charge f Chilliwack District as of May 1 of that year and emained there until the British Columbia Provincial emee were amalgamated with the R.C.M.P. on August | At the amalgamation of the two Forces he joined he Royal Canadian Mounted Police with the rank of sub-Inspector and was temporarily posted to Vancouver luring September, 1950, and received a posting in charge of Prince George Sub-Division at the end of September, 1950. Attested with B.C. Police on January 27, 1925. Served at Vancouver, Nanaimo, Matsqui Municipality, and Kamloops. Experimented with Radio in 1928 at Kamloops and Vancouver. Put in original radio network in 1929 and 1930, building equipment and installing it at Van- couver, Victoria, Nelson, Prince Rupert and Kamloops. Returned to regular duties in 1930, after comple- tion of radio network. Appointed detective in 1931 at Vancouver. Transferred to Chilliwack Municipality in 1933, as corporal. Moved to Crow’s Nest Pass Detachment for summer months in 1937. Late summer returned to Vancouver and seconded to the Superintendent of Brokers of B.C. to investigate security frauds and investigations of companies and brokerage concerns Promoted to sergeant in 1938. Sent to take Canadian Police College course at R.C.M.P. Training Center, Rockcliffe, Ont., 1942. Returned to Vancouver and engaged on C.I.B. work. Transferred to Victoria in 1944 and attached to Crim- inal Investigation staff at Headquarters. Detective- Sergeant. Passed examinations and promoted to Sub-Inspector in 1947, appointed to take charge of B.C. Police Training School. Appointed Sub-Inspector in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, August 15, 1950, and promoted to Inspector March 1, 1951. Now serving at Vancouver Sub-Divisional Headquarters, Vancouver, Inspector J. A. Young Born Penetang, Ontario, Dec. 25, 1905. Joined North Vancouver City Police April, 1928. Absorbed by British Columbia Provincial Police, who took over North Vancouver City policing October 15, 193+. Absorbed by R.C.M.P. August 15, 1950. Won Canadian Revolver Championship at Ottawa 1933, 1948 and 1949. Member of Canadian Bisley Rifle Team 1949. Established program of training and reloading of ammunition for B.C.P.P. in 1936. Conducted ballistic work for B.C.P.P. from 1937 to 1950. Graduate of Canadian Police College 1942. Commissioned May, 1948. Married—two chil- dren, 18 years and 21 months. revolver Inspector J. H. McClinton Born Northern Ireland December, 1898. First World War with the North Irish Horse and the Royal Irish Fusiliers in Malta, Egypt, Turkey, France and Belgium. Served in the Royal Irish Constabulary and the Served in Royal Ulster Constabulary from 1920 to 1926. In the latter Force was on the staff of the Inspector Gen- eral, Colonel Sir Charles Wickham, D.S.O. Came to Canada in 1926 and was engaged in jour- nalistic work until 1928. From 1928 until 1942 served in the B.C.P. Police. stationed at Prince George, Prince Rupert, Vancouver and Port Alberni. In 1942 was commissioned in the R.C.A.F. and served therewith until 1945, latter'y as a Provost Marshal of Western Air Command. Mentioned in des- patches for distinguished service, June, 1945. Returned to the B.C. Provincial Police at the end of war and served at Williams Lake, Kamloops and Penticton. Came to the R.C.M. Police as Sub-Inspector August, 1950, and was appointed Officer Commanding Kam- loops Sub-Division. Promoted Inspector March 1, 1951.
