Cycling ACross Canada right now, Bill Lottridge and Kevin Bona are attempting to raise money for 1,000, 000 children. That's a lot of miles for a million..... Project CCC (cyclists cross Canada) was devised by Bill and Kevin students at St. Mary's University, Halifax, N.S. Impressed by the fact that: "Twelve percent of the popula- tion up to nineteen years of age, or no less than a million children and youth in Canada today require atten- tion, treatment and care because of emotional and learning disorders," (quote the CELDIC report) their objective is to help these children by raising funds across Canada for CMHA. Kevin, a 20 year old pre-med student from St. John, N.B. and Bill 22, a psychology major from Hamilton Ontario, are following the Trans- Canada Highway, wherever possible, to Vancouver. out mental health literature The students will pass and meet the press and CMHA volunt- eers along the way. Their odyssey started in Halifax May 9 and had reached Ottawa by June 2. CMHA branches are helping with publicity, meals and accommod- ation. If all goes well, the two cyclists should reach the B.C. border the last week in July. CMHA branches will be assisting Kevin and Bill through our province, with a wind- up planned in Vancouver.
