A little-known fact about Big Old Eyes is that they got their name from sitting down one evening with a mutual female Scottish friend who, according to Robert, had amazingly huge eyes. He wrote a song for her, and the band then adopted the name. Also, Big Old Eyes is one of the only bands in the world to practice in a garage-basement.. That's right, the garage has a basement! You can see Big Old Eyes this Octo- ber 28% at Artspace with the Arbitrarys, among others. Their most recent release, Cathedral and Cathedral is their first full-length CD, and it. has been wow-ing Prince Georgers alike, even taking the first place on CFUR’s top 30, and will be reviewed in the next issue of Over the Edge. Big Old Eyes’ first release, Moon Hips and Spoon Lips, their first EP was re- leased some time last year to heavy CFUR play.
