Mayor of Vancouver

Born in Huron County, Ontario, January
9th, 1891. Came West with his parents at
the age of nine years. Received his educa-
tion in the Vancouver public schools. He
entered civic politics in 1928, being elected
as Alderman and served on the City Coun-
cil continuously, holding the responsible
position of Chairman of the Finance Com-
mittee most of the time, until elected
Mayor in 1937. He is interested in any
project for publicity for the City.
