This township is reached fros Hythe in section
14 township 75 range li where the nearest store and tele
graph office is situsteé. The nearest post. office is at
Brainard on the northwest quarter of section 2 township
74 range 12. It lies north of the vouse-Coupe ~ Grande
Prairie wagon road from which it is reached by a poor
Wagon road which leaves the main road in section 30 township
7&4 range 12.

No settlezm have located in this township. The
eountry is rolling. The southwest portion has been swept
by fire some years ago which has burnt most of the hurms.
Sectiams 4, 5, 6 and wrt of sections 7, 8 and 9 could
be economically cleared but on account of the poor quality
of the soil, is not suitable for agriculture. On this
account and on account of the dense bush encountered only
a reconnaissance was made into the rest of the township.
Here no lané suitable for settlement was seen, the country
being covered with dense poplar mostly < te 6 inches diameter
with patches of jackpine, spruce and birch some 10 inches
in diameter.

of hayes Otherwise the vegetation is poor on account of Lack
of humus. The seil is very light sandy leam ané sané with
sandy subsoil, and in a few places clay. There are also
frequent patches of gravel and stone. The water supply is
goed in the southwest area. There are numerous ducks and
