GOING!!

The end of an era
at the Cassiar Mine be-
came definite recently
as the turn towers from
the old tramline were

GONE !!

dismanteled. The old
tramline was put into
operation on May 27,
1956 and was operated
up to August 1974, when —
it was superceded by the:
new tramline due to it's)
capacity being too low
to meet the requirements
of the present mill. [i

In the bottom pic-
ture are two of the old
time tramline employees...
On the right is Steve

Steve was first
hired on May 11, 1953
when the Cassiar Mine
operated on a seasonal
basis which continued
until December 1961.
Steve hired on each
year and was laid off
with the other employees
at the end of each sea».
son.. He has been a more
or less permanent em-
ployee since February,
1962.

Steve originally
worked as a carpenter
building forms and pour-
ing concrete for the
foundations of the old
tramline. He then
worked with Breco erec-
ting the tramline towers
and installing the
ropes and running gear.

When the tramline’
went into operation in
May 27, 1956, Steve
became the bucket main-
tenance mechanic and
rope splicer. He con-
tinued on this job un-
til the old tramline
ended its operating days.

The other half of
the pair in the picture
is Bozo Colak. Bozo
was first hired on Feb.

24, 1961 and worked as
a labourer in #1 station
for a time, became an
operator until January
1965 when he became a
Tramline Mechanic.

Bozo still works in

this capacity on the
new tramline.

being needed is as good as being
loved, sometimes even better. They
are tenacious, loyal and loving, com-
bined with persistence and open
warmth.

A Taurean's happiness is found in
their money; if they don't owe the
world a cent they're in their utopia.
But the Taurean's greatest fear is
that of insecurity. The thought of
being in debt ties their stomach in
knots. Drunks, distractions and any-
one who wastes money depresses and
annoys them and being taken advantage
of makes a Taurean see red.

They are careful and conscientious
workers, but any job based solely on
commission makes them nervous. Proxi-

_mity to money becomes them. They're

the first to ask about fringe benefits.

Taureans are noted for gaining
weight and many of them fear this

- problem. Lots of activity (ie: tennis

and swimming)followed by rest and
relaxation are important for their

for their possessions, their family

Taurus with Aries - indicates
sympathetic vibrations: The Taurean
loves the Arian's boundless energy
and the Arian in turn like the
Taurean's earthy sensuality. Taurus
doesn't always understand the Arian

them, but is willing to try because
of the excitement that is brought

Taurus with Taurus = indicates
affection: Taureans understand each
