The event day on March 12° was cool and crisp (-28) but sunny, and the event day on March 19 was sunny and warm (-5). The turnout is get- ting smaller but all the events are being enjoyed by all — the participants. We started our event day off at the oval track with five different races. Once again a special thanks to all members whose support was greatly appreciated, also a big thanks to those who attended and showed support for the Club. R&S Ser- vices for donating the grader for repairs to the oval track, and Darren’s Cats for the same. These people make our event days possible. Thank you for your support. The Cassiar Snowmobile Club planned an outing for March 25. This was started at 10:00 a.m., everyone meeting at Darren’s Cats and goimg to Maryea Lake. (14 km). At the start of our day it was snowing and cool, but by the time we got going it had cleared up. The sun was out and the air was warm. We had nine machines turn up with the total of thirteen people. When we all arrived at the lake we went to the far end where there were hills for sledding. As the men got a fire going and the hot chocolate on, the kids and women did some sledding. Everyone was having a great time. We spent the next two hours sledding and eating. Some roamed around on their snowmachines. After everyone had some- thing to eat and was full, we decided to go for a small ride. We went further down the trail towards the Cottonwood River. It is beautiful country in there. The Club turned back at 3:00 p.m. We stopped and picked up our things and cleaned up the garbage to take home. The Club then started home from a lovely day outdoors. Everyone really enjoyed it and deicided to do this again soon. Thanks to the members who joined us on our outing to Maryea Lake. We are looking forward to the next one. The Cassiar Snowmobile Club sponsored an Event Day on April 2. We didn’t have a very good turn- out. The total of participants was seven and a few spec- tators. Because of the lack of people we decided to only run the ovals. We ran six different race classes. There was no doubt that we all enjoyed the fantasies created by Walt Disney and protrayed ‘by our young skaters. A lot of time and effort was put into the carnival by the skaters, Jody and parents. It would be too long a list to name all who were involved, but I would like to extend a special thank you to Garry Periard and Sherry Sethen, our M.C.'s; Debbie Kethler, our carnival convener; Denise Clark and girls for their assistance with amke-up; and George Johnson and Gail Harrison. I. was able to put together a few pictures of our skaters, but as you can see there are two important participants missing: Jody Miller, our one and only coach (thank you Jody, for all the time you put into our carnival); and Wendy Stark, who was Walley Wisney.
