Mr. Bidell and responded to by Mr. Woodworth, Principal of Chilliwack High School; “Brother Scouts,” proposed by Scout Master Pirie, and responded to by Scout Master Brice; “The Guest of Honour,” proposed by Dr. J. H. White, and responded to by King Scout Robert Gray. Following the toasts Robert made a short address, sketching his experiences at the great Jamboree, telling us some of the celebrated people he met, and some of the interesting places he visited, and giving a few of the impressions he gained. Founders’ Day was commemorated in the usual way this year, with Flag-breaking, Tree-planting, and general holiday-making. On Founders’ Day Sunday, October 20th, the sermon was preached by the Rey. F. B. Stacey, B.A., of Chilliwack. It is with very deep regret that we have to record that Mr. Stacey passed away suddenly at his home on March 17th. Mr. Stacey was a great friend of Coqualeetza—in fact just three days before his death he gave us a very fine lecture on “Fruit for Domestic and Exhibition Purposes,” in connection with our annual lecture series. We will miss him. The loyal sons and daughters of the Empire at Coqualeetza heartily added their voice to the paeon of Thanksgiving that was raised for the recovery of our beloved sovereign, King George V., in special services throughout the Empire on the 7th of July last. The speaker at Coqualeetza on Missionary and Maintenance Sunday, December 22nd, 1929, was Rev. Dr. Wilson, Secretary for Home Missions of the United Church of Canada. The contribution by Staff and Students to the Maintenance Fund on this occasion was $200.00. On December 29th, Rev. Geo. Webber, Provincial Secretary of the Lord’s Day Alliance of Canada, addressed us at the evening service. i Mr. Ronald Eveleigh, theological student, Columbian College, and Mr. George Anderson, Sardis, were among others who addressed our Sunday evening services. Mothers’ Day Sunday, May 11th, was suitably observed. Other Special Services through the year were the Armistice Day Service, Harvest Home, Thanks- giving, Watchnight, and League of Nations Sunday.
