John Drzimotta - Grade 7 HAPPINESS IS SCIENCE - GRADES 6 AND 7 CHICKEN CHIRP: ; Mr. Olson's class received four .dozen fertile eqos from Vancouver, -which six were broken. Very care- ! fully we put the fertile eaas in ithe incubator. The incubator temp- ‘erture has to be between 100 - 101 | degrees. The incubator is a replacement ' for the hen. October 13th, we very carefully put the eags in the incubator. We marked the eggs with a (x) or a (o) so that we would know which side to roll them on each day, three times a day we turn them. 8 A.M. 4 PLM., and 12 A.M. We opened one ego then we compared it with a normal eqg. The result was, the yolk was more round and less slimy. On the side of the fertile yolk were white curly cords to support the chick when in the eag. To grow, the chick needs warmth, food, (he eats the yolk which is stored in the eqa) water and oxygen, (water is put in the incubator which gives moisture to the unborn chick). He also needs protection, this is (a fluid around the baby chick which .serves as a pillow. The fluid helps ithe chick survive jerks or any bump. ! We opened an egg on the third day. We saw the heart pumping and ‘blood vessels giving the chick food and oxygen. The eye of the little chick appeared. The eye is Happiness is everything and anything one of the first sians of the chick Happiness is having anything that | have ever wished for in my whole life - Maids and butlers, waiters and chefs, a plane, a yacht, money and food, clothes, shoes, ties, shirts and hats, jewels and diamonds with aold inlaid cravats.
