OBITUARY It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Douglas Walter Rushfeldt, of Rushfeldt Transport, Cassiar, B.C. Mr. Rushfeldt was born in Cochrane, Alberta, on November 15, 1931, and died suddenly of a heart attack while resting in his car near Morley River on the Alaska Highway on June 8, 1968. Mr. Rushfeldt was a well known figure throughout the Yukon and Northern B.C., where he drove truck for the Transport Division for a number of years before coming to Cassiar where he obtained the ore haul contract from the Cassiar mine and formed the limited company we now know as Rushfeldt Transport. His friendly attitude and pleasant smile will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his widow, Gladys, daughter, Diane, and sons, Douglas, Jr., and Gary Dale, all of Cassiar. A church service was held in the Anglican Church, Cassiar, on June 12, 1968. The funeral service took place at the Eventide Funeral Home in Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday, June 15, 1968. Interment was at the Alto-Reste Memorial Gardens in Red Deer, Alberta. The Rev. J. D. Yoos of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, officiated. Pallbearers were Mervin Rushfeldt, Arnold Rushfeldt, Jr., Stanley Huffman, Terry Rushfeldt, Ron Rushfeldt and Jack Brand.
