OVERTHEEDGE = Girl: “The best Valentine’s date I had was going ice-fishing. The worst one was going to this fancy restaurant... we were so uncomfortable the whole time. You have to think of things that they would like doing.” @ Boy: “Going home to see your wife on Valen- tine’s Day, I’m doing that, I haven’t seen her for a while... and the worst one: pots and pans, for Val- entine’s Day... horrible idea, ironing board, that’s a bad idea, too. Like, making-her-work presents. If she did the same thing and I got a chop-saw, you know, that’s not a Valentine’s Day present. I don’t want a chop-saw, that’s work!” Boy: “A romantic evening for two. Making your date do all the work and leaving halfway through, that’s pretty bad.” Boy: “The best one, I’d say, is cooking dinner at home with a good bottle of wine, that’s very important. Has to be red. The worst idea is to go to Wood Working class.” Girl: “Find a really really romantic place up in the forest behind the university. Make a fire that keeps you warm and set up a nice little pic- | nic. Luckily it’s getting warm. Wear some warm clothes so you can snuggle up and have a nice date in front of the fire. And obviously you should make a heart or something in stones around the whole place so when your picked valentine, your. chosen valentine comes; they- see this -wonderful flaming heart in the snow. The worst idea is prob- ably to go get really really drunk at Joe’s or some- thing and think that it’s really really romantic to go there to watch other girls strip.” Bes = Girl: “Having my husband actually home | for Valentine’s Day would be nice, it hasn’t happened in a really long time. The worst for me is bowling. I hate bowling.” Boy: “The best idea would be to go to the Big John Bates show at the Generator. The worst idea is to go do something generic. Like taking your girlfriend out and buying her chocolate.” Girl: “Dinner and a movie or something. The worst idea is probably be a stand-up.” Couple: Girl (the best idea): “We both like skiing, so that would be / a pretty good idea I think.” Boy (the worst idea): “Acting too cooltocelebrate Val- entine’s Day would be the worst idea. It really doesn’t im- press. I speak from experi- ence.” Photos by Mitch Grant, Photo Editor. Compiled by Tabatha Lundhoim, Arts Editar.
