Page 14 Cassiar Courier ASTROLOGY. 4% ‘lom May LIBRA, Date: September 23 to October 22 Ruler: Venus Governs: Kidneys, Loins and Lower Portion of the Back The Libra tends to have a love of justice, peace and harmony. The native is courteous, pleasant, agreeable, and as a rule, even-tempered, affectionate, sympathetic and sensitive to surroundings and conditions of friends. They tend to be natural peacemakers, are just, kind, amiable and generous, Modest, neat, particular, they love art, refined pleasures and amusements; are artistic and dislike any type of unclean work, The Libra native is intuitive and has objective fore- sight, They usually marry young and more than once, © COMPATIBILITY LIBRA - ARIES Both will enjoy each other’s company. Aries will delight in taking the Libra out and about. LIBRA - TAURUS Both will havé much in common; sociability, a good nature and easy-going, Taurus tends to be more jealous than the Libra and this may create a problem, especially when social- izing with the opposite sex. LIBRA - GEMINI Both are artistic and enjoy the bright things in life. Don’t try any form of subterfuge as both Libra and Gemini are great schemers and trying to outsmart each other could con- clude in a tragedy. LIBRA - CANCER The Cancerian mood tends to be.too much of a burden for the Libra, Cancerians have many weaknesses that the Librian character cannot supplement or bolster and this opens up many dangers, LIBRA - LEO The Leo is quite accommodating, but there is something about Libra’s nature that seeks to oppose such goodwill, The Libra has a tendency to wound Leo’s pride and the result of this would be very unpleasant for the two of you, LIBRA - VIRGO Libra is to sensitive for Virgo’s criticism and*has little sym- pathy for the Virgoan self-pity, However, Virgo has a great spirit, mental fluidity, restlessness, beauty and charm ; all qualities which the Libra will appreciate and understand, LIBRA - LIBRA This could be a blessing. Both will understand each other very well and if the two of you study each other’s interests, a devotion will evolve that cannot be surpassed, LIBRA - SCORPIO There are many sympathies in common here, Both are strat- egists and if wisely co-ordinated to common ends, the result could well be unrivalled, but be careful because Scorpio is a masterful individual and will not be played with. LIBRA - SAGITTARIUS The freedom-loving spirit of the Sagittarian will attract the Libra but it may be hard for the Libra to keep pace with Saggittarius, Libra tends to use reasoning powers while Sagittarius trusts more to instincts and intuition and that is the one important difference between the two of you, which could end up being very annoying, LIBRA - CAPRICORN These two signs tend to get along satisfactorily, yet devel- opment of disharmoney is very capable of evolving. The Libra may find the Capricorn distinctly boring. LIBRA - AQUARIUS These two signs are so closely akin to one another that little more needs to be said, Aquarius is the best of all the signs for compatibility with Libra. LIBRA - PISCES These two signs tend to attract themselves to each other, but it usually is a fatal attraction due to great differences between the two, The disharmony here will not affect the Libra as much as it would the Piscean. SCORPIQ Date: October 23 to November 21 Ruler: Mars Governs: The Bladder and Sec Organs The Scorpio native tends to have strong characteristics and shrewd, keen judgement. They are critical, suspicious and skep- tical but are enterprising, reserved, tenacious, determined and secretive. There is a fondness for luxuries but they are econom- ical and calculating; restless, energetic, fond of travel, especially on water, and have admiration for grandeur in nature, They tend to their own affairs in business but in matters of duty. they may make troubles for others, In speech, the Scorpio native is plain, blunt, sarcastic and forceful. They aré very aggressive in regards to law and politics. At best, the Scorpio is original, scientific, sagacious, daring and creative, and is capable of much success through bold enter- prises. They tend to be find engineers, contractors, surgeons, chemists, detectives and sheriffs. COMPATIBILITY SCORPIO - ARIES These two signs repel as Aries is often too bad-tempered for the masterful Scorpio, This is enhanced by Aries’ desire to dominate the relationship, irrespective of Scorpio’s more dominant per- sonality. SCORPIO - TAURUS, These signs are extremely compatible, but the Taurean has to evolve above jealousy and the Scorpio has to subdue the desire to force their will toward the Taurean. SCORPIO - GEMINI The Scorpion greatly admires the Geminian intellect, If the Scorpio pursues literary and artistic careers, then their person- ality will appeal to the Gemini, SCORPIO - CANCER These signs tend to be harmonious, but the fact is that the Can- cerian is a clinging vine of sorts and there will be little happin- ess unless the Scorio’s interest is centred around the home. The . common point between the two is the emotional field. SCORPIO - LEO Many characteristics are parallel and in complement. The Scor- pio admires Leo’s dignity and charm, The Leo’s emotions blend _ well with that of the Scorpio, .The negative part of this group- ing is that both signs are dominant and unless there is a good uriderstanding between these individuals there will be very lit- tle Pee SCORPIO. VIRGO.” Virgo’s critical attitude will not affect the Scorpio too much, because the Scorpio tends to understand this sign more than, anyone of the other signs do, although if this critical attitude becomes overbearing the Scorpio will get fed up. SCORPIO - LIBRA (See Libra) SCORPIO - SCORPIO If completely allied, these individiuals make a formidable and ahappy team, They can go far together. SCORPIO - SAGITTARIUS This is a doubtful combination since there is usually distrust between the couples. The Scorpio cannot manipulate the Sagittarian because the Sagittarian demands freedom and the relationship deteriorates unless Sagittarius holds the reins in the relationship. \ SCORPIO - CAPRICORN The Scorpio may not find all the warmheartedness that is expected because the Capricorn is more matter of fact in their nature. The moodiness of the Capricorn may also get on the Scorpio’s nerves. SCORPIO - AQUARIUS This combination is not ideal from a temperamental point of view. The Scorpio can see through the Aquarian too easy to be of comfort for the Aquarian. SCORPIO - PISCES The Scorpio individual sees much to admire in the Piscean, but usually the Piscean is too sensitive and emotional for the masterful, positive character of the Scorpio. SAGITTARIUS Date: November 22 to December 21 Ruler: Jupiter Governs: Liver, Hips, Thighs, and Condition of the Blood The Sagittarian native is usually jovial, bright, hopeful, gen- erous, and charitable in nature. They are self-reliant, active:, enterprising, frank, outspoken, honest, ambitious, persever- ing, and not easily discouraged. They love liberty, freedom, and all types of outdoor sports. Sagittarians dislike having to answer’ to someone who is in authority over them and they will not be driven or forced to do anything. Generally, the Sagittarian has a strong will and is sincere, honorable, earnest, aspiring, energetic and whatever they say goes right to the mark. They show reverence for philosophy and science, have good calculating ability and foresight, and are usually prophetic as to the outcome of movements or enterprises. SAE COMPATIBILITY a SAGITTARIUS - ARIES These two signs blend well together as both are vital, eager, and enthusiastic. The Aries tends to be more cautious than the Sagittarian, but both signs like their independence, and with each wanting and understanding this, they are very com- patible. : SAGITTARIUS - TAURUS The Taurean is far too possessive for the Sagittarian, as Sagittarius desires much freedom, SAGITTARIUS - GEMINI The Gemini tends to be the complementary other half of the Sagittarian. Both signs are restless, but with proper under- standing this restlessness can be very advantageous for both signs, SAGITTARIUS - CANCER The Cancer tends to have a hard time keeping place with a Sagittarian. The Sagittarian is not a home person which the Cancer individual is, and this can cause much disappointment for the Cancerian, The Cancer tends to be a clinging vine, which smothers the Sagittarian individual. SAGITTARIUS - LEO The mutual attitudes of these two signs is invariably ident- ical, Their tempo is the same and both are capable of res- ponding to the moods of each other. The Sagittarian ~ should, however, beware of deceiving a Leo, for infidelity is one thing a Leo will not forgive. SAGITTARIUS - VIRGO At a first glance these two signs appear to be very compat- ible for both signs often think alike and seem strikingly similar. The truth is, the two of you will soon end up on each other’s nerves, and the Sagittarian resents Virgo’s habit of criticizing while the Virgo resents Sagittarius’ liberty to - exercise their freedom, SAGITTARIUS - LIBRA This is quite a harmonious combination for the Libra is of equal temperament. Mental and artistic talents will be the true bond uniting respective interests. SAGITTARIUS - SCORPIO This combination could be successful if you have many: points in common, The danger here is that the Sagittarian _ has a tendency to evoke jealousy in the Scorpio to an un- precedented degree and this is dangerous. SAGITTARIUS - SAGITTARIUS Here the two of you see eye to eye in Liberty and freedom of action, The relationship will not last long unless the two of you develop mutual interests, If there is a mutual ac- ceptability between the two of you the relationship will be extremely compatible, SAGITTARIUS - CAPRICORN The Sagittarian and Capricorn are utterly unlike in charac- ter as the Capricorn is a pessimist and the Sagittarian is an . optimist. The Capricorn tends to be suspicious and dis- trusting and is inherent of jealousy, all of which the Sagit- tarian will have to make allowances for. All in all, this re- lationship will be like playing with nitro-glycerine, SAGITTARIUS - AQUARIUS Aquarius may be especially appealing to a Sagittarian, There are many points about an Aquarian that will-be ad- mired by the Sagittarian. The sense of humor inherent in both signs is acceptable by the other and, if conversed, these individuals should blend well together. SESE SS - PISCES The Piscean can, in many ways, charm a Sagittarian and the Sagittarian enjoys the Piscean sentiment, but Pisces is some- what of a clinging vine and this tactic and the desire to lean on the Sagittarian is what Sagittarius dislikes. CAPRICORN Date: December 22 to January 19 Ruler: Saturn Governs: Knees and Spleen The Capricorn is quiet, thoughtful, serious in their nature, , with a deep mind and good reasoning ability. They are gener- ally practical, economical and given to investigation. Capri- cornians tend to act with dignity and self-esteem and are somewhat particular, ambitious and persevering; never en- tirely discouraged although often disappointed. They are thorough and hard workers, careful, cautious, frugal and make the most of opportunities, They usually meet with some heavy obstacles in the path of desires and progress, yet by dint of persistent, patient and concentrated efforts — they often butt their way through these circumstances to triumph in whatever goals they have set. COMPATIBILITY ‘ CAPRICORN - ARIES Aries stirs the jealousy in Capricorn, giving ample grounds for mistrust. This combination is the most hazardous alliance that the Capricorn could encounter. sle- 7, Cont'd on next page CAPRICORN - TAURUS Both signs are extremely jealous and these two shouldn’t take each other too much for granted, If Capricorn drops some of their austerity and show a little emotion this comb- ination should pay off.,. CAPRICORN - GEMINI The Capricorn tends to be far too possessive for the Gemini’s liking and the Gemini is far too temperamental for a Cap- ricorn, This tends to be a dangerous coupling, CAPRICORN - CANCER Cancer is Capricorn’s psychological complement and if Cap- tricorn smooths off some of the rough edges the union could be a success, CAPRICORN - LEO Capricorn should fit in quite well with.a Leo if persuaded that it’s worth it for the Leo, Remember, never to wound a Leo’s pride and never be deceitful to a Leo, If Capricorn masters these two points then the inter-relation between these two signs could be a success, SKI CLUB NEWS The New Platter Lift is now installed and should be inspected and running by the time you read this article. This Lift is a major step forward in safety and ease of use for McDame Mountain Ski Club. On behalf of the Club I would like to once again thank anyone, both skiers and non-skiers, who assisted in any way to the compen of this project. In order that we may have safe, trouble free operating seasons there are a few basic rules ‘that all skiers must observe. Keep your scarf tucked in. . No loose clothing. No long free hanging hair. . Safety straps or skistoppers are a must, 5. Load and unload from the loft only” where indicated by signs. 6. Remove your poles from your wrists when loading and point them for- ward, 7. Follow in a straght line while riding up this lift. Zig-zagging can cause derailment of the cable. 8. When unloading from this lift, re- lease the platter easily and keep it _ directly in line of the tow path. 9. Move away from unloading area quickly. wn This year there will be paid operators on duty ‘at all times. The hours will be flexible depend- ing on the size and demand of the members of the Club. We must be able to operate in the black. The larger the Club the more hours we can operate. Unfortunately at the moment our lighting is not sufficient for nite skiing. Hopefully by ea early Janurary this problem will be remedied. This is a good combination, providing that there are general aims between these two signs. CAPRICORN - LIBRA The Libra will tend to try the Capricorn’s patience, The Capricorn will show jealousy of Libra’s social tendencies and interest in others, Many of Libra’s traits are contrary to the Capricorn nature, and this may be too much for the Capricorn’s nerves, CAPRICORN - SCORPIO (See Scorpio - Capricorn) CAPRICORN - SAGITTARIUS (See Sagittarius - Capricorn) On Thurs. p.m., January 18, 1979, there will be a Ski Club General Meeting to vote in a new executive. At this time I will be resigning as President. Consider yourself running for one of the executive positions. These positions are: President Vice-President Secretary-Treasurer Membership Chairman ‘Race Committee Chairman Only by having a good executive will the Ski- club facilities continue to grow. Happy Skiing Wayne Mayell President McDame Ski Club. Cassiar Courier Page 15 CAPRICORN - CAPRICORN 4 This combination should be very satisfactory for a Capricorn, What may be lacking, however, is that there will be an ade- quate foil for periods of depression, As a result, indifference may develop in the course of time, CAPRICORN - AQUARIUS The aristocratic nature of Aquarius may be somewhat of an at- traction to the Capricorn and the driving ambition of the Cap- ricorn is equally attractive to the Aquarian, but the problem is that these two signs are from two totally different worlds. The Aquarian is unpredictable and the Capricorn is austere and mathematically minded. CAPRICORN - PISCES Pisces is capable of understanding Capricorn’s moods but it would be difficult at times for anyone to understand the basis of the Capricorn’s quarrels and complaints. There may be problems for a Piscean to undertake the expectations of the more practical Capricorn as Pisces tends to be a daydreamer, If each other’s idiosyncrasies are understood in the relationship, these two signs could go well together.. Rodschat Randy Aubie Cor Lobbes Linnea Baldwin Scott Murray Al Streich Geoff Manifold : Cassiar Curling Club Cassiar Curling Club is celebrating its 25th An- niversary this season and Ed Michael and his ‘Bonspiel Committee have big plans underway for the Annual Bonspiel, to be held March 15, 16, 17 and 18, 1979. It is hoped that many previous members of the Cassiar Curling Club will participate in either the regular Bonspiel, which will have 48 teams com- peting in 5 events, or a Mini-All Star Bonspiel for past or present Curling Club members who can’t stand the rigors of the regular Bonspiel curling. The Mini-All Star Bonspiel will be held if there are sufficient entries. Team entries will be accepted, as well as individual entries, and the Bonspiel Committee will put the individual en- tries on teams. Entry fee for the regular Bonspiel is $20.00 per person. Unfortunately, over the past 25 years there has been a large number of members for whom we do not have addresses, or possibly someone’s name has been left off. If you were a member of the Cassiar Curling Club and did not receive an invitiation it is only because an on-going mem- bership list was never kept -so most of the names come from the memories of the oldtimers. If you are interested in attending the Big 25th Anniversary celebrationss, please advise The Bonspiel Committee, Cassiar Curling Club, Cas- siar, B.C., as soon.as possible. An event such as this requires considerable funds and to raise money a Pizza Nite is being held ev- ery Friday evening at the Curling Club, and all proceeds are for the 25th Annual Bonspiel. From all reports, Hine Robichaud and Sandy Hickman, who look after the Pizza Nite, are the “sreatest” pizza-makers, so why don’t you come out and try them. They are also planning per- iodic ethnic nights after Christmas, where foods and refreshments of different countries will be featured. SAT SIAS bokeh Gor BRE LE Adele Affolter David Tates J. CO-OPERATION? Once again winter is here and the people of Cassiar are enjoying the snow. There seems to be an abundance of cross country skiers and snowmobilers this year - Participaction seems to. have really caught on. We are really fortunate in Cassiar to be ‘surrounded by so much open country. In spite of this it seems that both skiers and snowmobil- ers seem to like the same trails. Snowmobilers usually have a hard time trying to please everyone. If they ride around town the townsfolk complain and when they go in the open country very often the skiers complain. Of ' course everyone who skis knows how difficult it is to ski over skidoo trails whereas the same cannot be said of the reverse situation. There should be a solution to the problem but what?!?! One suggestion is that cross country ski trails and skidoo trails be clearly marked. If this were done would each group edna each other’s trails? If you have any suggestions about how to solve the problem please write to the editor and we will try to publish them. Meanwhile, have a good winter and remember that there is plenty of room in Cassiar Country for everyone. i) ee 7 oS eo ——
