50 dipping 65 degrees north. The quartz is mineralized with bornite and chalcocite and carries visible free gold that is usually associated with the steel-grey chalcocite. The main crosscut adit, at an elevation of about 990 feet, runs in a direction south 25 degrees west for 120 feet to the fault zone. A drift follows west-northwest along it for 180 feet to where a cross fault cuts it off. Plan showing workings of Lucky Luke mine. The cross fault has been followed southwest for 35 feet without finding any sign of the faulted part of the vein. In this distance the fault changes in dip from 70 degrees southeast to 80 degrees northwest and the strike changes from south 34 degrees west to south 84 degrees west. The striations along the fault are horizontal and are not heavily grooved, all of which suggests a relatively small off-set along the fault plane. It was not possible to deter- mine the direction of the movement. The shear zone in the drift ranges from 3 to 6 feet in width and the enclosed quartz averages about 9 inches in width. In a few places the quartz pinches entirely out for a few feet.
