CONGRATULATIONS TO - Cathy and Charlie Gander on the occasion of their Silver Wedding Anniversarv (25th), celebrated on March 19th. Cathy and Charlie were the honoured guests at several dinner parties put on by their close friends recently. We sincerely hope their Anniversary was a memorable one and that Cath's broken wrist didn't “Dampen her spirits" in any way. Cathy and Charlie would like at this time, to thank all their friends for the cards, gifts and best wishes and for making this Anniversary one they are not likely to forget. OPENING OF THE TROPHY ROOM After waiting so long for it, we finally got it. The "Trophy Room" opened on Saturday, February 2lst, to the tune of "Alloutte". You guessed it - The Ladies where there in fine singing voice. Wonder where all the gkasses went off to? PLEASE - we need them, and if they keep disappear- ing, it will be that much longer before we get our carpet and indirect lighting. Control yourselves! Please remember one thing - we want it to be a nice cocktail lounge - so let's keep the working clothes out of it! HERE'S ONE PERS "EYE OPENER"!!! «- O --2Z THE GIRL GUIDES A very enjoyable evening was held on Friday, February 27th, when the Provincial and Divisional Girl Guide Commissioners visited Cassiar. The girls and boys belonging to the Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Guides met in the School gym, where they were introduced to hoth Commissioners. The children were shown slides of Girl-Scouts and their leaders from all around the wortd. Commissioner Stewart from Vancouver gave our badges to the Brownie Girls and after some songs, "Taps" was sung. All the Cuiders here in Cassiar met afterwards with the Commissioners in the lounge of the Ladies' Staffhouse. At 7.39 p.m. the cafeteria hosted a lovely supper for twenty five people. In attendance were our Reverend Reuss of the Anglican Church, the two Cub Leaders, Mr. Veltmeyer and Mr. Corrigan, the executive of the parent's committee and a large number of interested mothers. Thank you all for coming and compliments to the cafeteria staff for their excellent service. Afterwards at the School again, everybody had a chance to ask questions and receive experienced advice from our guests. The Commissioners spent a comfortable night in Casstar. After a quick breakfast in the morning, which was served at Maxson's, they started on their trip home, Much appreciation to those who helped to make their visit a success. A bit later Susan was going to bed. When her mother came to kiss her goodnight, the child looked at her strangely. "Youtve been using Daddy's perfume", she said solemnly.
