RAYBESTOS-MANHATTAN COMMUNITY AWARD

Several years ago Raybestos-Manhattan Co. Ltd. of
Manheim Penn. U.S.A. instituted an award to be made to
any Cassiar employee, or member of his family, who con-
tributed most outside of his or her regular duties to the

Day Care Ceutre

We have a building for all Youth programs that will
be completed for use in the very near future. The Cubs,
Brownies, Cadets and Sunday School will be using the
Youth Centre most of the evenings but during the day,
Monday to Friday, the Town Council are proposing the
building be used for a Day Care Centre.

If you are interested in sending your children to
a Day Care Centre in Cassiar please phone the Town
Administration Office - 778-7477. If there are enough
Mothers interested in such a program we will proceed
further with this project.

We understand the B.C. Government pay a portion of
the expenses, but to hire a qualified supervisor, and
this is one of the requirements, you would still have to
pay a portion of the expense but a Day Care Centre would
be a properly supervised place for your pre-school
children.

Important Message |

The Cassiar Town Council have been renovating the
the old bunkhouse at 230 Kennedy Street for the use of
various youth organizations such as Cubs, Brownies,
Cadets, Sunday School and possibly a Day Care Centre.
This has been done with all volunteer help up to date.

They are in need of a used refriderator and propane
cook stove; if anyone would like to donate a workable
fridge or stove would you please call the Town
Administration Office. — mA

When you get a dog you
also acquire the responsibi-
lity to look after this same
dog. This does not mean
that you allow the dog to
have the run of the town.
There are some people that
are frightened of dogs and
so are limited to where they
can go in Cassiar. We also
have 350 children in this
town and 3 of them have been
bitten in the past 6 months.
It's time you faced up to
your responsibility as.
citizens of this town and
kept your dog under control
at all times.

WAREHOUSE

The Purchasing Office welcomes Odette Cario, who
will be replacing Gerry Cook when she leaves us at the
end of March. ie

Donn Clintan, one of our countermen, has left us for
greener pastures.

Paul Adrain and Harry Neufeld, our two checkers,
have risen in the world. They are now blaster's helpers
at the mine.

The Warehouse now has two Supervisors.
Lorne Barber as our new Warehouse Supervisor.

Wanted -Day Care Supervisors

The Cassiar Town Council is looking into the
possibility of starting a DAY CARE CENTRE in the new

a Grade 12 education and also take a 6 weeks course in.

possible to have the Northern Lights College put on the
course here in Cassiar. If you are interested in taking
