Things are looking good in there, and everyone seems to agree. We hope everyone stepped up on their own dental - “home care” as April was Dental Health Month. Maga- zines, t.v., and radio ads brought messages to make the public aware that dental diseases such as decay and gum disease are almost totally preventable. All it takes is a few minutes a day to brush and floss to keep that smile healthy for a lifetime. Speaking of prevention - the school dental education- al program in Cassiar and Dease Lake seemed to be very successful. The participation during both visits in No- vember and then in March was terrific. Much of the success was due to very responsive students and teachers. I would also like to send out a BIG THANKS to Dr. Paul Comparelli as he generously sponsored this program and most of the supplies for it. Then we were very fortunate to receive donations of oral hygiene kits from Procter and Gamble as well as packages of floss from Johnson and Johnson, All these things combined gave the program a big boost - which was evident in the letters we received from some of the students. It’s important to start good dental habits early - so I hope the program can continue year after year. Again, thanks’to all for your contribu- tions. by Marilyn Whitney Z the Open Thursday through Monday Approved Guest Rooms 11 a.m, - 7 p.m. (kitchen facilities avail.)
