Events On And About Student Board of Governors and Senate Elections Timeline It’s time for elections to the student board and the Senate. Nominations close on March 10, 2000. The term of office for these positions is from May 1, 2000 to April 30, 2001.. The Board of Governers is the Administrative Governing Body of the University. Some of it’s committees include the Academic Operations Committee, The Administration and Finance Committee, and the Employee Relations Committee. The Senate is the Academic Body of the University. It deals with scholarships and bursaries, Academic appeals, the library and research and graduate studies as well as various other topics. Events for the week include: March 6- 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. Women’s Words/Women’s Works silent auction at the Northern Interior Health Unit auditorium offers books by six local women authors and art works by 12 local women artist. The auction is a fund raiser for Canadian Women’s Studies Association. Activities contin- ue from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. with a cele- bration of Triumph and Survival, an evening of poetry, stories and songs, at the auditorium. Admission is by donation. March 8- 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The women’s talking circle at the Native Friendship Centre and fashion show, displays. The silent auction continues at UNBC’s Northwood Winter Garden ‘from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10- 7 to 10 p.m. Entertainment by _ International Women’s dancers at the NIHU audi- torium. Admission is by donation and women are invited to bring interna- tional finger foods. March 11- 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. is the last chance to bid on women’s writ- ings and artwork in the Keith Gordon Room at the Prince George Public Library.
