first completely successful installation of Nomex fabric filters on asbestos ore drying equipment, and the design and installation of an effective dust _ agglomeration system to reduce fugitive dust at tailings deposition. Present control measures are outlined in Appendix E. The ongoing environmental improvement program has been developed in consultation eh government, labour and industry. Environmental and process improvement tend to go hand in hand, the process improvement allowing generation of the capital required. Some recent accomplishments are set out below. 6. MINESITE a) Rotary drills are now equipped with effective dust control equipment. The only dust collection devices on the drills in 1970 were Rotoclones (inertial collection devices) which emitted approximately 1 GR/SCF exhaust particulate. Experiments were conducted with fabric filtration devices (emitting less than 0.05 GR/SCF particulate) but due to "wet hole" problems were not completely satis-—- factory.
