Page 6, The Cassiar Asbestos Sheet, February, 1974, Joe and I were lucky enough to have another holiday in New Zealand, which means Christmas in the sun - for most New Zealanders this means lazing and sunning on the beach, at temmeratures between 70-75 F. which is verv easy to enjov. ‘However this vear Christmas and Boxing Day were dreary and dull, but apart from those two days we had a month of very | pleasant weather and at various times could exhibit noses like ''Rudolph'', peeling shou- lders and a first for me - sunburnt and swollen feet! For us this trin, Christmas at home meant a Family Reunion, as mv sister from Lethbridge, Alberta, was home for the first time since 1958. New Years was spent on my. sister and brother-in-law's vacht, anchored off the Great Barrier Island about 50 miles north east of Auckland. This was a new and enjoyable experience for us and we spent | New Year's Eve on deck under a beautiful Southern sky, just dotted with stars. — Gerda Prince, Brvce Mercredi, Vera Budinski, Joe Fitzsimmons, in front Lindsev Beck. | Cassiar Lions have purchased a building from Good Hope Lake that is in the, process of being moved to the Lions Picnic Grounds at Chain Lake.
