(“Frank”) Clark Iu Memoriam IT IS with deep regret that we announce the tragic and sudden death of Constable F. P. (“Frank”) Clark on November 19th last. While returning from the Sooke district between six and seven o'clock in the evening, accompanied by Mr. Felix Cooke, the highway patrol van collided with a bus on the Island highway. Both Constable Clark and his passenger were almost instantly killed. Born in Vancouver, B. C., twenty-nine years ago, Constable Clark joined the B. C. Police in December, 1934. He served with the Mounted Troop at the Oakalla depot until April, 1938, when he was assigned to traffic duty on the Pattullo Bridge at New Westminster. He carried out his duties so ably that he was subsequently selected for permanent highway patrol work on Vancouver Island and transferred to Victoria in February, 1939. Ideally suited to his work, he earned the respect and appreciation of a wide section of the motoring public by his fair and impartial treat- ment of their problems, and his superiors in the Force regarded him as a young man of exceptional promise. We unite with his fellow officers in extending our heart-felt sympathy to Mrs. Clark in her sad loss. SINCERE SYMPATHY is expressed to the relatives of Felix Cooke, who died in the traffic accident which claimed the life of Constable F. P. Clark near Victoria in November last. Born in Victoria of a pioneer B. C. family, Mr. Cooke was a brother of Assistant Chief Clerk A. O. Cooke of the Headquarters Motor Vehicle branch, and ex-Constable Frank Cooke, who served for some years at Fort St. James detachment. Mr. Cooke was well known in the business section of Victoria, and his many friends and relatives were shocked at the news of his tragic death. THE SHOULDER STRAP —e-
