GRADE TWELVE CLASS ASSURED FOR | NEXT YEAR Parents and students of next years Grade 11 and 12 classes at Cassiar Elementary-Secondary, were asl:ed re- cently ro reach a decision about whether they would attend school in Cassiar - As-a result, 13. students will attend Grade twelve and 18 stu- dents will enrol in the Grade Eleven ' program. District Superintendent of Schools, Dave Lynn, has indicated that this is a healthy enrolment for the senior secondary program and that it shows a trend towards a gradual in- crease_in enrolment in future vears. The well attended meeting voiced concern that the program would he phased out. Parents strongly support-— ed the continuation of the proeram and called for a commitment to this effect, for. future vears. Thev felt that parents of vounper students would want the same assurance. Members of the Parent Advisory Council who organized the meeting asked Principal Jack Grant to reauest of the Superintendent a meeting at the earliest possible time to discuss the issue further. A request that parents of Grades 8 and 9 students be invited was also made. Details of that meet- ing will be announced.
