J. R. MURDOCH PROMOTED Many friends gathered recently at House 130 to wish “God Speed and Good Luck” to Jim and Janine Murdoch. Jim has been promoted to the position of General Superintendent at our Clinton Creek mine. He has already left Cassiar and Janine and the children will follow after the end of the school term. The well-wishers presented Jim and Janine with several gifts, included in which was a replica of a blasting whistle . . . the significance of which is known to quite a few! Jim's compatriots at the mine presented him with a lighter since, as they said, ‘‘He wouldn't be able to scrounge lights from them at Clinton.” Presentations were made by Mr. A. C. Caron and Mr. R. L. McKenzie. The Murdoch’s have been strong supporters of many of the Cassiar activities and, while we look for great things from our “kid sister’’ mine, we will, at the same time, miss this energetic and popular couple.
