The Bread Guy is a local food distributor who delivers wholesome and delicious baked goods to the corner stores at UNBC, such as cookies, muffins, and even samosas made by Dana Mandi, an Indian restaurant in - town. The prices are affordable, the food is nutritious and made without the laundry list of chemicals that mass produced snacks are full of. The best part is that it is all local product, so you know where your money is going. 3. The Stairwells of the Teaching & Learning Building — Yes, believe or not, the elevators are not the only method of transportation to and from the various floors of the T&L-Building. The stairs are located past the elevator in the corners of the part of the building where the actual classrooms and faculty offices. are. So if you are looking to burn off all of the calories that you just packed in at the cafeteria, the stairs are the way to go. Plus, it’s a more environmentally conscious way to travel up (think of the amount of heat and electricity that goes into powering those elevators). Best sledding hills have been located in these areas in Prince George: -Moore’s Meadow, Near 1st Avenue and Zimmaro -Harry Loder Park/Rainbow Park, off Rainbow Drive -Camey Hill, located at the corner of Massey Drive and Camey Street 3 -College Heights Secondary, located on Domano Boulevard Winter Adventureland -Powder King Mountain Resort and Northeast BC RegionFor those interested in downhill skiing and snowboarding, Powder King Mountain Resort, is your hot spot location. Located right next to the Pine Pass summit on Hwy 97, it offers some of the best powder skiing in the province. Nestled in the Canadian Rockies, Powder King offers the best of the great outdoors, from virgin snow and breathtaking drops, to the gentle groomed slopes of beginner runs. This hill favours intermediate-level skiers. The 24 runs serviced by a chairlift, 2 T-bars and a platter tow, are located about 120 miles (200-km) north of Prince George on Hwy 97. Prices range from about $40-60 for a day pass. -Tabor Mountain Ski Resort offers downhill skiing with triple lift and a T-bar. The ski resort has a bus service on weekends, and is open seven days a week, including night skiing three times a week. Tabor Mountain Ski Resort is located on the Yellowhead Highway, 12.5 miles (20-km) and 15 minutes east of Prince George and is the perfect hill for beginner skiers and boarders. Lift tickets for students is a great deal - only $31 -Purden Ski Village is the largest ski mountain in central British Columbia, and provides some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the province. Over 1,200 vertical feet of skiing on dry powder snow, treed runs and uncrowded slopes make Purden Ski Village a paradise for skiers. Purden Ski Village is located 38 miles (60 km) due east of Prince George on the Yellowhead Highway The mountain is a 4-km drive north of the highway. The Purden Shuttle Bus runs between Prince George and Purden Ski Village. Prices for transportation & lift ticket are $60 for students - what a deal!
