Page 12 EVENTS Reciprocity Shelf Approached Again Beside the bookstore and across from PIRG is the Reciprocity Food Shelf. This is here for students who are in financial need to pick up and extra bit of food, not for those who already have access to food or who are living at home with adequate nutrition. If you do take food from the shelf please notice the word “Reciprocity”. This means that when you are financially stable you should give back to the students. At the moment we get a donation of food every Friday from St. Vincent de Paul, and occasional donations from CUPE id members. While some students do leave donations we are always in need of more. Any type of canned goods, produce, bread, rice etc. would be greatly appreciated. We welcome everyone to help them- selves to any perishable food items any day after Friday (so the food does not go bad over the weekend). Anyone wishing to make donations can simply place them directly on the self. For more informa- tion on the Reciprocity Food Shelf contact Erin or Shelley at PIRG (960- 7474, or email at pgpirg@unbce.ca). -featuring pic’s taken by papira volunteers @ the Seattle WTO conference -public forum on the WTO featuring Maude Barlow. from the Council of Canadians CANFOR THEATRE FEBRUARY 29 @ 7 PM February 21, 2000 Africa Development and Information Centre of Northern BC Invites you to the Africa Film Festival Programme Friday March 3rd (room 7-238) 6:30pm-8:00pm: Everyone’s Child (winner of 4 awards) 8: 30pm-10:15pm: Neria (winner of 8 awards) Saurday March 4th (rooms 7-238 and 7-212 11:00am-12:45pm: Neria 11:00am-12:30pm: The Grass is Singing 1:15pm-2:45pm: More Times (winner of 9 awards) 1:00pm-2:30pm: Everyone’s Child 3:15pm-4:05pm: It’s Not Easy 3:00pm-4:45pm: Neria 4:35pm-6:20pm: The Grass is Singing 5:05pm-6:35pm: Everyone’s Child 6:50pm-8:20pm: More Times 7:05pm-8:50pm: Neria Dates: March 3rd and 4th Place: UNBC (rooms 7-238 and 7-212) Fees: $3.00 single ticket per entry $10.00 pass good for all Tickets Available At: UNBC Bookstore CNC Bookstore Mosquito Books in Parkwood Place Books & Co at 1685, 3rd Ave For further information contact: Amissi at 564-0715 or Nathaniel at 614-0273 Comments on God Debate Continued Double the power of your degree Work in the Global Village. 4 international Project Management is anew 12-month post-graduate certificate program at Humber College Now you can study for ernployment in the growing field of international Development. It is time to switch our ener- gies from offering prayers to imaginary beings to curing the mani- fest ills of our planet and societies. Comforting as the thought of everlast- ing life for humans (unique among animals) may be, it is an absurdity. We are born, we live and we die, like every other life form. Let us devote our lives to creating the greatest pos- sible good for the greatest number of people rather than waste them on fantasies.
