The road from Blue River to Mud Hill will be rebuilt and they will revise the horizontal and vertical alignment on the Cassiar access road. A similar day labor project will take place-at Atlin from the townsite to the Ath of July Creek Bridge. The Highways Department will also be putting in a multi-plate at the Oweegee Creek, _ south of Bob Quinn Lake and replacing the Hitchcock Creek bridge on the Atlin Highway with a multi-plate. A contract has been let to put in the Cottonwood River Bridge this year. Also, a contract to complete the unfinished section of the highway between Meziadin and Kitwanga has been let to Dawson Construction for 8.8 million dollars. Elections were held and the nine directors pictured below were elected. In addition to the nine members elected, ‘ the following people stood. for election to the Board: Jim Bondesen, Rita Brown, Jim Callow, Fiona Carew, Maria Cvetkovich, Crystal Daum, Stan Deyo, Louise Hara, Marvel Nitti and Lee Patton. ‘ Prior to the election, 61 memberships to The Cassiar Hospital Society were sold and 41 ballots were cast at the a election. The nine elected members, plus one government appointed director — not yet named — will be responsible for all policies regarding the Cassiar Hospital. A spokesman for the Board advised that a meeting will be held shortly to elect an executive.
