Selection was done through voting by secret ballot among the students and the two students (a boy and girl) with the most votes were selected to go. Among the 33 students, Dani Michael and Peter Kliment (hath 13) were selected to make the long trip to Aylmer. Project Canada is a program under which classrooms from distant parts of the country are paired and information exchanged. Some classes have exchanged projects about each other's particular area; many students have become pen-pals etc. However a visit such as that by our local Grade 7 students is the ultimate way to exchange information. The visit was arranged under the direct- ion of Mr. Olson and Joel Cadesky of Davenport Senior Elementary School in Aylmer, Ontario. The students spent a total of eight exciting days in Ontario - all THANKS to their classmates, the Student Council and the people of Cassiar who so generously supported the student's fund-raising projects. The students trip in their own words.... MY TRIP TO AYLMER....by Peter Kliment I'll try to put together a short story of my trip to Aylmer. Dani and myself left Watson Lake on May 26th and flew to Edmonton where we stayed over night. Next day we flew to London, Ontario. We were welcomed by our host Mr. Cadesky, his wife and two female students. A car ride of twenty-six miles, we were in Aylmer. There I met the Walker family. While I was there I was treated like a king and I enjoyed it. John Walker, a boy 13 years of age, took me to the school next day, I had a great day. During the week we were at a track meet, circus, mushroom farm, pheas- ant farm, telephone company and a tabbacco farm. We also went to Toronto and had an opportunity to see the wonderful Niagara Falls. We also had one T.V. interview. The other time I spent on the farm. Before I knew it. the week had zoomed by and we were on ouy flight back. I enjoyed every moment of my trip. I will take this opportunity here to thank evervone who contributed to make this trip possible.
