The recent announcement by
our Federal Government that Sikhs
in the R.C.M.P. will be allowed
to wear their turbans and cere-
monial swords is, to my way of
thinking, leading our government
down a path of no return. It is,
to me, a blatant example of
exactly how far our leaders will
go to appease.a vocal minority.

Since their formation the
uniform of the Northwest Mounted
Police and later the Royal Canad-
ian Mounted Police has become, at
least to my mind, a symbol of our
great united country. The Moun-
ties and their uniform are recog-
nized everywhere as a strictly
Canadian torce. It asi I
believe, part of the heritage of
this country.
