E202 Museum AND ArT NOTES last year the City Museum sent by the official Canadian representative, Judge F. W. Howay, a bound volume of copies of original charts in the City Museum which were made on the last voyage of Captain Cook and one of which portrayed the spot where he fell. The present volume is a reciprocation of this gift and forms part of a most valuable collection of material which has come from this source. Complete details of this most elaborate celebration are given. It abounds in illustrations showing historic and other places of interest. Not of the least importance are the speeches delivered by representatives from all parts of the world, and of Judge Howay’s address, it says, after quoting from it, “It was one of the most complete contributions to Hawaliana covering Hawaii and the Northwest Coast that have been prepared.” The Museum is proud of this relationship with the Archives of Hawaii and is indebted to His Honour Judge Howay for establishing this relationship. “Indian Notes,” vol. 6, No. 3, published by the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, contains, among other interesting articles, one on a Nootka Basketry Hat by F. W. Hodge. The following reports of Museums and Art Galleries were received: Auckland Institute and Museum, 1928-29. Burnley Art Gallery and Museum, 1928-29. Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, 1928-29.
