My new cat, Kitty, comes over crying “feed me, feed me”. As | scoop out nasty looking and smelling cat food my stomach rumbles. What to have, what to have. Being new to Prince George in the last week, my fridge looks as empty as it did in Prague. Does this sound familiar? Leaving out the money factor, who has the time tot buy groceries let alone cook? Well | do. | love to cook. | am fascinated with our Canadian stores after coming from a place that is better known for its sex bars and beer than eating. It is much cheaper to eat out in the Czech Republic, unfortu- nately that is not the case here. | have been able to _ make it to the grocery store a few times at least. | have heard people say that it would be great to be a cat, sleep all day and be fed. If | had to be fed than count me out. | wander over to my fridge. What to eat, what to eat. | could have cereal but that is boring. With only a few eggs, cheese and veggies in less than 5 minutes | have delicious breakfast, with as much effort as the cat food. The point of this article is to get you to cook. Not 10 course meals, as that will come later. Just something to get you started so you are not embarrassed as your stom- ach growls so loud in class the prof pauses their lecture. But Timmies is so much faster you say? Well, how long does it take you to drive there and wait in line? One thing that | find really helpful is to do the dishes while the eggs are cooking. Then when you are finished eating you don’t have an overloaded sink. Please after you have enjoyed breakfast, let me know what you think. Debrou Chut! (Continued from page 4) how the water was drained into the Fraser River. The major stumbling block was the fact that the notion of a canal is such that it is a man- made irrigation tool. On map, the Vedder River istraightens outi and turns into the Vedder ‘Canal. What was even more intriguing was the fact that the Cultus Lake is connected by the Vedder River, but strangely, it was not consid- ered an outflow into the Fraser River. And so, this dis- cussion kept going back and forth until we reached Williams Lake. At the depot, Beischer decid- ed to get something to eat. He ordered an order of chick- en strips and French-fries. Because | packed a meal for the journey, | decided not to purchase anything from the depot. Beischers number was called and he immedi- ately went up and exchanged the ticket for his meal. While he ate his chicken strips and his French fries, we dis- cussed more on the matters of the Chilliwack-Vedder Rivers mystery. At the appointed time, a gen- eral announcement was made by the captain of the coach, informing all the pas- sengers heading back to the Lower Mainland that our jour- ney was to continue again. Beischer finished off his meal and got left. We boarded the coach again, unaware and unknown to us when our next stop over would be. Getting back into the bus and seating ourselves, we immediately went about to our conversa- tion concerning the Chilliwack-Vedder _ Rivers mystery. But lo and behold, about 20 minutes later, Beischer felt uneasy as he complained that ithe grease wasn’t going to welli in his stomach. | countered, saying ido you think those chicken strips were made of real chicken? Beischer laughed and we continued our conversation. A few minutes later, Beischer got up and went straight to the lavatory at the back of the bus. | thought to myself “Eight hours to go.” Do You Have a Recipe?
