G CASSIAR_CENTENNIAL ARENA Almost 230 people attended the dance held in the Community Centre on Monday, May 22nd, when the winning tickets on the car raffle were drawn by Mr. Gus Edlund, of Ruston Hornsby. Winner of the car was Mr. Fred Cleman of Montreal (No. 532), while Dale Rattray, daughter of Bill Rattray of Cassiar, won the boat and motor (No. 659). Net proceeds from the raffle was approxi- mately $12,000 and profits from the dance were around $350. One truck load of lumber and some hard- ware have already arrived for the arena construction. Forms have been made for the column footings and the corners of the building have been located. Anyone who wishes to work on the arena should telephone Norm Kipnis at 212 or 363, as crews are now being organized. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
